Brandon Arce founded Dirt Tek Trails in 2019 after an extensive career in trail building. He later relocated to Bentonville, Arkansas, where he collaborated with a regional trail project management group. Teaming up with Candice Kozark and Amber Brown, he eventually brought the business back to his home state of Colorado. With over 20 years of combined experience in high-quality trail construction, project management, and trail advocacy, their team delivers innovative and sustainable trail solutions.

Brandon Arce

Brandon has over 20 years of experience building high-quality mountain bike-optimized trails alongside 30 years of riding them. Through his diverse experience, he has built world-class trails across many states and various countries. Brandon is known for efficient and unique building techniques and a strong work ethic. He spent his early building years focused on gravity and bike park construction, which has given him a particular focus on managing drainage on trails and ensuring trails and trail systems are designed for high traffic. You’ll find many of his unmistakable “Brandon Berms” on trails across the US. Brandon is the trail expert you need to shape your project.

Candice Kozark

Owner / Operations / Builder

Candice has worked in project management and trail project development professionally and on a volunteer basis for close to ten years. During that time, she has developed a wide understanding of how trail systems and trail communities work. With experience in fundraising and nonprofit management for trail communities, race and cycling event production, trail tourism, and trail development, she has developed a broad understanding of how trails and trail communities function. She has now also spent ample time digging in the dirt alongside her team at Dirt Tek. As Director of Operations, Candice ensures projects stay on track and are completed with efficiency and integrity.

Amber Brown

Project Support

Amber has worked in the bike and trail industries for two decades. She began trail building along the Arkansas River, and her trail knowledge spans from coast to coast, from towns of a thousand to large urban cores. Her recent projects include working with the Arkansas Parks & Recreation Foundation to manage the Monument Trail projects at Hobbs, Mt. Nebo, Pinnacle Mountain, Devil’s Den State Park, and the River Mountain trail system. Monument Trails were designed as complete destinations with something for everyone, tailoring trail difficulty according to terrain and proximity to the trailhead.

Andrew Bothun

Machine Operator

Andrew has been building trails across the country for over eight years for various companies, including his own. In that time, he’s worked both on the ground as a hand crew and in the machine as an operator, crafting beginner to advanced-level trails. He’s built in multiple types of terrain, including those across the Midwest, East Coast, and Western slopes of Colorado. His passion for high-quality trails is evident in his willingness to learn and adapt to every job site. He always brings the stoke and ingenuity needed to keep projects on track and focused.

Anna Bothun

Anna has spent much of her life exploring the outdoors and traveling to diverse landscapes. With a deep passion for outdoor recreation, she has immersed herself in trail-building over the past year, gaining hands-on experience working alongside our team in Colorado. Anna’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to going above and beyond in every task ensure that the trails she helps craft are built to the highest standards. Her dedication to effective trail grooming, combined with her enthusiasm for learning and growing within the field, makes her an invaluable part of our team.

Meghan Cooper

Builder

Meghan brings a unique blend of field geology and trail-building experience to the Dirt Tek team. She spent nearly two years leading trail crews across the U.S. as a Site Supervisor with Singletrack Trails, where she honed her skills in hand-built techniques, rock work, and project coordination. With a sharp eye for terrain and a deep respect for the landscapes she works in, Meghan builds trails that are both sustainable and fun to ride. Her leadership, work ethic, and problem-solving skills make her a trusted and capable presence on any job site.
