An experienced biker navigates a challenging trail at AngelFire Bike Park.

Angel Fire Bike Park, located in the high alpine of northern New Mexico, is one of North America’s premier destinations for gravity-fed mountain biking, boasting over 60 miles of purpose-built trail and 2,000 feet of vertical descent.

Brandon Arce, owner of Dirt Tek Trails contributed to the park’s renowned network by constructing Turbo Diesel—a fast, flowy intermediate trail that delivers machine-built rhythm and modern trail feel. Built in 2018, Turbo Diesel winds through pine forests and open meadows, offering smooth grade reversals, sculpted berms, and controlled speed that make it a favorite for laps and progression.

Our work on Turbo Diesel reflects Dirt Tek’s commitment to building trails that are fun, sustainable, and dialed for both daily riders and destination traffic. With a focus on ride quality, drainage, and durability, the trail was shaped to blend with the alpine landscape while holding up under the rigors of a busy bike park season.

TrailForks

We hired Dirt Tek Trails to build us a new gravity bike trail called Turbo Diesel, which was completed and wonderful. What we did not anticipate during this hiring decision was the sheer amount of knowledge we as a team would learn and gain from Brandon throughout his time spent here. Brandon completely changed the way our bike park team constructs trails, plans future projects, and trains equipment operators. Our team got all this great knowledge from one builder during one summer—completely game-changing for Angel Fire Bike Park and the trail crew team!”
