Baldridge Regional Park

Trail Design in Montrose, Colorado

Dirt Tek Trails partnered with the City of Montrose and MUT–COPMOBA to design a modern, gravity-focused trail system at Baldridge Regional Park. Located on a prominent hillside above the park’s existing amenities, the project transforms a network of informal social trails into a purpose-built riding destination that supports progression, durability, and long-term community use.

The design includes a full suite of trails to serve a wide range of riders, from a beginner-friendly green flow trail to a feature-rich blue jump line, a technical blue flow trail, and an advanced black line. A dedicated climb trail and access routes support efficient lap riding, while a skills track provides an approachable space for youth and beginner riders to build confidence. A central start hub anchors the system, creating a cohesive and intuitive experience from top to bottom.

Given the steep, open terrain and highly visible location, the design emphasizes thoughtful grading, drainage, and feature integration to ensure both performance and longevity. The plan also includes strategies for decommissioning and reclaiming existing social trails, improving overall hillside health and guiding users onto sustainable alignments.

This project reflects a strong collaborative effort between the City, local trail advocates, and stakeholders, with a shared goal of creating a high-quality recreational asset that enhances the park and serves the Montrose community for years to come.
