Phase I in Moab, Utah

In 2025, Dirt Tek Trails was selected to build the first phase of the Mud Springs Trail System. This ambitious new project is located in the Upper Spanish Valley, just south of Moab. This trail system had been years in the making, shaped by public input, environmental review, and the collaborative efforts of the BLM, Grand County, and San Juan County. With a clear goal of creating accessible, beginner-friendly trails that could host events, accommodate adaptive riders, and expand riding opportunities beyond the core Moab network, the project finally broke ground in the summer of 2025.
We were brought in to construct just over 6 miles of new trail, including wide, machine-built loops and connectors designed for Class 1 e-bikes and adaptive cycles. Each route was carefully shaped to be fun and intuitive for newer riders while still flowing naturally through the desert terrain. Our work also included building connections to a new trailhead and staging area, setting the stage for community use and future race events.
More than just another trail network, Mud Springs represents a shift toward inclusion, progression, and long-term stewardship in one of the most iconic riding regions in the country. We’re proud to have helped bring it to life.
